About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Expert – Inclusive Agricultural Systems to join our Technical Advisory Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership on the integration of disability inclusion into agricultural programs. Working alongside key experts and regional advisors, you will support the development of tools, resources, and strategies to ensure inclusive agricultural systems that cater to the needs of persons with disabilities. You will also play a vital role in strengthening internal capacity through training, knowledge sharing, and building strategic partnerships with donors and key stakeholders.
Your tasks
- Strategic Advice: Collaborate with the Senior Expert in Economic Empowerment and Country Directors to ensure a coherent disability inclusion approach in agricultural value chains and market systems across our focus countries.
- Disability Inclusion Advisory Services: Provide expert guidance on disability-inclusive agricultural programming, supporting the implementation of inclusive approaches across program teams and partners.
- Capacity Development: Lead the development of training materials and e-courses on inclusive agricultural programming. Conduct capacity-building sessions for staff, partners, and stakeholders and foster internal and external learning exchanges.
- Program Quality & Coherence: Develop technical guidelines on inclusive agricultural systems and support the continuous improvement of program approaches, ensuring alignment with industry standards and adapting to emerging themes such as climate change and disaster preparedness.
- Research, Documentation, and Learning: Contribute to research on inclusive agricultural systems and document lessons learned to support the development of knowledge products and good practices.
- Networking and Resource Mobilization: Strengthen strategic partnerships and lead engagement with external stakeholders such as the Mastercard Foundation, ILO, and IFAD. Play an active role in resource mobilization efforts and expand visibility on the theme of inclusive agricultural systems.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in Rural Development, Agriculture, Rural Innovation, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in development work, agribusiness, or a related sector.
- Deep knowledge and experience in disability inclusion and working with organizations of persons with disabilities.
- Proven ability to manage partnerships, including engaging with government and international partners.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a commitment to building the capacity of others.
- English business language required; French would be an advantage.
- Expertise in facilitating learning and capacity-building activities, both virtual and in-person.
- Innovative and strategic thinker, with the ability to adapt and apply new solutions to complex challenges.
- Proficient in MS Office and technology tools for collaboration and learning.
- High levels of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to Light for the World’s mission and values.
