The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution in Applied Mathematics, focuses on basic research in applied mathematics, and within the Institute mathematicians from all around the globe collaborate on common core areas in mathematical modeling, simulation, inverse problems and optimization. POSTDOC POSITION (F/M/X)
in the Transfer Group
(part-time, 20h per week)
The position is available for a duration of three years with the possibility of an extension, from February 01st, 2025 onwards. Place of employment is Linz. The working languages are English and German.
The hired person will work on the development and implementation of mathematical models and numerical algorithms for Adaptive Optic systems for Free Space Optical Communication (FSOC). The work will not only include the validation of the algorithms via simulations, but also the development of the real-time computing software for the real systems in close collaboration with our industrial partner Microgate. Your profile:
- PhD or Mathematics or a related area.
- Strong background in numerical mathematics and modelling is required.
- Experience in parallel programming and high-performance computing on CPUs and GPUs.
- English skills needed.
