Backend Developer - Metadata System (m/f/d)
Are you ready to shape the future of media asset management for a leading entertainment giant in Europe? We are on the lookout for a talented backend developer to contribute to the evolution of our metadata systems team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing solutions that power our video streaming platform JOYN and elevate the user experience on our broadcast channels’ websites.
In this position, you work within our hybrid model “Highly Remote”. You can work mostly remote within Germany. You can find all information here. The contractually agreed place of work will be Unterföhring near Munich or Berlin. Possible travel costs to the place of work will not be reimbursed.

What you can expect in this role
- Work on exciting projects that enable us to aggregate and manage metadata for hundreds of thousands of videos
- Learn and grow with hands-on experience in building serverless microservices on AWS using Python and/or TypeScript (we offer great resources and mentorship to help you level up your skills!)
- Collaborate closely with editorial as well as technical teams across the entire media streaming workflow
- Operate in a "you build it, you run it" mode, giving you direct responsibility and autonomy for monitoring and troubleshooting your services
Your essential experience and education
- You hold a degree in computer science, information technology, media engineering, or a related field
- Also, you possess solid and proven skills in TypeScript or Python and you are willing to learn, with bonus points for proficiency in additional programming languages
- You are passionate about your work and committed to enhancing overall code quality and maintainability
- Besides that, you demonstrate hands-on experience in building serverless backend services on AWS, or bring a strong interest in learning serverless technologies
- You have excellent communication skills in English, German language skills are a plus
