Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer – Research data management (f/m/x)
The UFZ
The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) with its 1,100 employees has gained an excellent reputation as an international competence centre for environmental sciences. We are part of the largest scientific organisation in Germany, the Helmholtz association. Our mission: Our research seeks to find a balance between social development and the long-term protection of our natural resources.
The job
Extreme events caused by climate change, such as heat waves, heavy rainfall and floods, will continue to increase in the future. The Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research is investigating the expected massive impacts on ecosystems and the resulting economic costs in Germany and Europe. The necessary prerequisites for this are high-resolution environmental system models running on high-performance computers and high-resolution in-situ and satellite-based observation data sets. To this end, the UFZ operates observatories and innovative observing systems (e.g. TERENO and MOSES), infrastructure platforms (e.g. CITEPro and GCEF) and modelling platforms (e.g. mHM and OGS).
In order to guarantee the long-term availability of research data according to the FAIR principles and to ensure the connection to national and international data infrastructures (e.g. NFDI and EOSC), we have established the Research Data Management team at the UFZ.
