Commodity Expert (f/m/d) Electrical and Mechanical Installation & Erection for complex Projects
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will source large scale installation & erection packages for our extensive project portfolio in the areas of power transmission (HVDC onshore & offshore, FACTS), conventional power plants, and new business fields such as hydrogen and renewable energies. You'll oversee the end-to-end sourcing process for mechanical and electrical erection works on large scale international projects
How You'll Make an Impact
- Investigation and acquisition of market intelligence to establish a global supplier/contractor network and achieve cost savings as well as enhancing cash flow for sustainable business success
- Collaboration with interface partners, such as project and site management, as well as sales/bid management, facilitates support to project teams during the bidding and execution phases. This includes cost calculations of the installation/erection "Buy-Portion" and assessments of potential procurement risks and opportunities, like sourcing restrictions and special local requirements
- Establishment of an RfQ process, encompassing supplier onboarding, qualification, and development of a contract award strategy that considers project goals related to cost and quality
- Successful presentation of a Total Cost comparison to a sourcing board and implementation of results/outcomes
- Preparation and execution of contract negotiations, using available procurement levers to secure best-in-class outcomes
- Provision of support for claim and contract management throughout the execution phase
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or master's Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or business field or similar career track record
- Extensive experience in related SCM functions, construction management, project procurement, proposal and/or project management within power transmission & generation, renewables or oil & gas industry
- Advanced knowledge of sourcing process is essential for the job-role - preferred if existing - if not, will be trained & technical understanding of electrical & mechanical installations such as switchgears, transformers, HVDC, FACTS, piping, HRSG or rotating equipment is desirable
- Excellent negotiation, legal and presentation skills, along with ability to build relationships and influence partners on different levels
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics and cost modeling, with a focus on MS Office applications like Excel, Outlook, Ariba, and SAP
- Proficiency in German and English, further language skills are beneficial (e.g. Spanish, French); willingness to travel internationally
