Your Role:
As a Bench Scientist in the Discovery Pharmacology Department, you will play a crucial role in Merck Healthcares drug discovery activities. You will support pipeline projects primarily through the development and implementation of partially or fully automated in vitro assays for the identification and pharmacological characterization of small molecules. This includes the practical execution of biochemical and cellular assays, data capture, and final analysis using appropriate software packages. You will document the data in our storage systems and present and discuss your findings with your laboratory team and the entire department. Additionally, you will contribute to the growth of our assay technologies portfolio and the advancement of laboratory automation.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology or related Life Sciences.
- 2+ years of experience in Life Sciences.
- Experience in a biopharmaceutical company preferred.
- Practical experience in biochemical and cellular assay techniques.
- Proficiency in various assay read-out formats (e.g., HTRF, FP, q-PCR).
- Experience in assay development and automation in microtiter plates.
- Skills in high-throughput compound characterization and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and under pressure in a global environment
