Your role:
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced professional to join our Global Corporate Communications team as an External Communications Manager. This role will provide tactical support in executing our external communication strategies and enhancing our company's reputation and visibility with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Press Release Management: story mining, writing and distribution of press releases, announcements, and other media materials; Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather information, draft content, and ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to the media and other external stakeholders.
- Media Relations and Management: Serve as media spokesperson for Life Science and Germany-based trade media. Managing incoming media inquiries, including responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, and facilitating media engagements for company spokespeople. Research and identify new media opportunities and build relationships with key journalists and influencers to expand the company's media reach.
- Media Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor media coverage and industry trends to track the company's reputation, identify emerging issues, and assess the effectiveness of communication efforts. Compile media reports and provide analysis to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Messaging Alignment: Development and manage key messaging, creating a "single source of truth" library for internal stakeholders to leverage.
- External Communications Process Management: Enhancement and manage processes related to external communications including press release development and approval, crisis communications workflows, and media inquiry reviews.
Who you are:
• Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field. • 4 to 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media relations, with a strong interest in external communication and media engagement. Agency experience is also welcomed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and German with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
• Deep and proven expertise in external communications process development and management
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and across a matrixed global organization
• Ability to establish and manage positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of external communication and media relations.
• Result driven, detail oriented, strategic thinker with can do attitude
