Master Thesis in Airframe Stress Methods and Optimisation - General System Definition and Integration in Preliminary Aircraft Mission Simulation (d/f/m)
You are looking for a master thesis and want to get to know the work of a job title? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the department Stress Methods & Optimisation as a Masterand (d/f/m)!
- Location: Manching
- Start: As soon as possible
- Duration: 6 months
For an ongoing research project at Airbus Defence and Space, the in-house simulation software Lagrange will be integrated into a multi-disciplinary framework to combine the structural simulation and optimization capabilities with multi-fidelity general system simulation models. To satisfy the needs of the aircraft design process at Airbus Defence and Space, this framework allows
automatic generation of analysis models that can be employed for different design disciplines. The parameter based geometry definition enables time efficient concept studies during early design phases.
Currently an in-house mission simulation software is being extended to support the architecture of preliminary system design. It is desired to assess the required system performance and its impact on the aircraft performance. The thesis will involve a study of different definition types of aircraft systems based on the CPACS (parametric data format by DLR) definition. The current available
software will be extended to read the desired system definition and define a preliminary simulation models for the different ATA chapters and their interfaces. With this foundation system design simulations should be investigated and implemented. E.g. system mass evaluation, wiring and piping simulation or system redundancy analysis.
