Mentoring Program - Women in Chemistry
About the program:
The Women in Chemistry Mentoring Program at Boehringer Ingelheim is an initiative designed to empower women students and postdocs in synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry, and support their transition into the pharmaceutical industry. By pairing participants with experienced women mentors from Boehringer Ingelheim, we strive to create a nurturing environment for knowledge sharing, career advice, and personal growth.
The 10-month program includes an in-person kick-off event at our site in Biberach, Germany (travel costs and accommodation to be covered by Boehringer Ingelheim), monthly or bi-monthly online mentor/mentee sessions, and up to three expert panel discussions on various topics.
- Duration of the program: May 2025 - February 2026.
- On-site kick-off meeting in Biberach an der Riss, Germany: May 9, 2025.
- Our mentors are experienced women working at Boehringer Ingelheim in both Medicinal and Process Chemistry
- There are no costs associated with the program; all expenses, including travel costs and accommodation for the kick-off event, are covered by Boehringer Ingelheim.

Responsibilities
As a program participant, you are expected to:
- Engage actively in all program activities.
- Maintain regular communication with your mentor by arranging and structuring meetings, where you can proactively seek advice and feedback tailored to your needs.
- Honor your mentor's time and commitment by being punctual and well-prepared for all sessions.
Requirements
To qualify for this program, you must:
- Be a women/women-identifying currently pursuing a PhD or postdoc in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry.
- Have a keen interest in transitioning from academia to industry.
- Be able to fully commit to the program's duration, including attendance at all scheduled events and sessions.
- Valid travel visa to Germany for the kick-off meeting (May 09, 2025).
