In October 2020, Global Business Services (GBS) was established as a new transversal, multi-disciplinary function. GBS is managing global end-to-end (E2E) processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness by using innovative solutions while simplifying and harmonizing the E2E process delivery.

In 2022, Sanofi board confirmed the need of establishing an autonomous GBS organization by extending to a new Service Line: PEOPLE SERVICES (PPLS).

Therefore, GBS PEOPLE SERVICES are looking for PPLS Business Partner, Germany. For PEOPLE SERVICES, the key missions expected from this role are:

Stakeholder management

Project Management

Administrative/Compliance support

About Growing with us

Within the scope of People Services, the team will be in charge of:

  • Employee Life Cycle (ELC): from hiring to retiring.
  • Master Data Management (MDM): GBS PEOPLE SERVICES team is responsible for data accuracy and data completeness according to the core model.
  • Time to Pay (T2P): GBS PEOPLE SERVICES is collecting input from different channels, entering into systems or sharing securely with vendors, controlling as per legal rules and internal controls requirements, before managing post payroll activities. Local benefits management is part of GBS PEOPLE SERVICES scope of services.
  • Connect to Resolve (C2R): GBS PEOPLE SERVICES team is responsible for knowledge articles that help employees to find answers to their queries at their fingertips. According to defined process and SLAs, GBS PEOPLE SERVICES is providing feedback on employees' requests.
  • External Workforce (EWF): GBS PEOPLE SERVICES team is in charge of collecting and reporting on EWF data.

The role of the People Services Business Partner will be focusing on:

  • PPLS Germany Expert: the candidate will be the People Services expert for Germany, based in Germany, for all Employee or External Life cycle topics, time management, benefits and payroll topics. The candidate will help us to define and set up standard quality models (efficient process with high level of employee experience). The candidate will actively contribute to change management and support communication with the business, with managers and with employees. The candidate will represent People Services in Germany leadership meetings and will, when required assess risks and lead on mitigation plan together with PPLS team based in Budapest.
  • Sanofi Business Services partner: During the transition period of our activities from SBS People Services to GBS People Services, the candidate will be the main point of contact for any question/issue about Global Service Agreements as well as the Local Service Agreement (documentation of activities that could not yet be transferred to GBS). The target is to exit those agreements as fast as possible and ensure GBS People Services will be autonomous to perform all activities of the core model.
  • Vendor coordination: The candidate will facilitate and coordinate communication and initiatives with the local vendors in Germany (e.g. Payroll services, Benefits and Pension providers etc.,). The candidate will also help implementing the CHC dedicated governance, review the performance/KPIs, define areas of improvement, facilitate the communication with the rest of People Services team.
  • Stakeholder management: The candidate will implement and actively participate in the governance with our stakeholders based in Germany: Finance (more specifically Accounting), Internal Control and Legal for example. The candidate will connect with Finance stakeholders for any question related to budget, accruals, audit, with Internal Control to support any discussions about compliance, controls, evidences, and some interactions with Legal team may be required in case of new legislation to be implemented in the global or local systems. The candidate will be also expected to leverage this network to collect feedback on our services as well as continuous improvement ideas. Last but not least, the candidate will be expected to ensure People Services core model (global and local processes and tools) are clearly understood and aligned with the stakeholders and be the preferred point of escalation in case of issue.
  • P&C partner: The candidate will be the local point of contact for and work closely with the German People & Culture team, supporting on global HR processes (performance, talent, compensation cycles, queries, reporting...). This means help with communication, explanation to managers, preparing reports, monitoring. The candidate will also support P&C during preparation of union/work council meetings or negotiations, providing expertise and data.
  • Project management: The candidate will lead or support (depending on size and complexity of the project) any initiative or project impacting German employees. Those could be automation of calculation or process steps, deployment of a new vendor, implementation of a new HR policy in our HR and payroll systems, change of Finance process (e.g. Accounting or Treasury), running a data quality campaign, analyzing impact of a new global reporting.
  • Administrative/Compliance support: The candidate will be the main point of contact for internal controls and auditors, facilitate internal and external audits and coordinate the annual compliance calendar with stakeholders. They will be the point of contact for statutory bodies and provide expertise and recommend decisions around GDPR, SOX, Data quality, archiving.
  • Continuous Improvement: The candidate will continuously challenge the as is processes to identify simplification, standardization, automation and will organize focus group assessments to collect feedback from our users and stakeholders by regularly visiting the different sites in Germany. They will constantly assess our knowledge base (articles) and propose improvements (new articles, corrections) to simplify and improve the employee experience.
  • Autonomy: The candidate will actively contribute to the CHC autonomy by assisting in the definition of how P&C and PPLS will operate as an independent organization (for instance, designing of the new process for statutory reports, payroll error management, advance payments, garnishments, contract management, external workforce management).

  • Highly skilled listener, able to stay ahead of the change curve/journey impacting his/her team, internal customers and partners.
  • Very good understanding of HR Business Partner, HR COE, HR operations model and their interactions to bring value to business

Technical skills:

  • Previous experience with Workday or similar Global HR systems
  • Experience with case management application(s) (preferred: ServiceNow)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate or Master's degree in HR or related discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in German payroll experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR Services or Customer Service Operations environment (internal or external)
  • Experience with HR and HR Services transformation projects (technical and/or functional) ideally with some project management responsibilities
  • Experience of partnering successfully with third party partner(s)
  • Experience of embracing and delivering change within a multicultural organization
  • General knowledge of People & Culture (Human Resources) policies and procedures

Languages:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
