There is a job opening for a Senior Avionics Plaftform Software Engineer (m/f/d) at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join the department “Flight Control Software”. This team is developing safety critical software, covering manned and unmanned air vehicles in several programmes like FCAS and Eurodrone.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Being part of an agile team, that designs, implements and tests safety critical real time software

• Development of Platform Software / Low Level Software

• Software reviews and documentation

• Design and documentation of software architecture and design

• Support the planning of software increments

• Contribution to design definition and improvement

• Analysis of stakeholder needs and/or upper-level requirements and specification of actionable requirements

Desired skills and qualifications

• Experience on RTCA DO-297 Integrated Modular Avionics Platform

• End to End Development of Platform Software / Basic Software for Avionics Platform

• Embedded Programming (C) for Low Level Software Development

• Experience on Embedded Systems and related Hardware / Software layers

• Experience working with Embedded System and Avionics RTOS on ARINC 653

• Experience on Continuous Monitoring and Test Function for Avionics Platform Software

• Familiarity with RTCA DO-178C for Level A Software Development and Verification

• Exposure to Certification Audits

• at least 10 years of experience in the field of embedded safety critical software lifecycle

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
