Senior System Development Engineer - Sensor Networking ADAS/AD (m/f/d)

At CARIAD, we're bundling and further expanding the Volkswagen Group's software expertise. We're uniting over 6,500 global experts to build a scalable technology stack, including a software platform, unified electronic architecture and reliable connection to the automotive cloud. Our CARIDIANS are developing vehicle functions such as driver assistance systems, a next-generation infotainment platform, power electronics and charging technology, and digital services in and around the vehicle.

Our software can already be found in Volkswagen ID. models and will soon power Audi and Porsche vehicles with the E3 1.2 platform in 2024.

YOUR TEAM

You will work in a diverse and dynamic team and in a collaborative and innovative environment, with like-minded individuals who share a passion for cutting edge technology.

We are working on one unified tech stack for best-in-class automated driving and parking as well as advanced driver assistance systems. Developing our components and functions for the biggest vehicle fleet in the market we will make automotive mobility safer and create the new comfort of driving.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop and implement the sensor networking within the vehicle bus system
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, software- & function developers and system architects to generate sensor requirements
  • Align and cooperate with vehicle architects to find an optimal sensor interconnection design
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the sensor interfaces over the development lifecycle, ensuring correct and synchronized implementation of sensor signals and services
  • Standardize and harmonize interconnection concepts among various ADAS Sensors throughout various vehicle platforms
  • Ensure fulfillment of interconnection features, including time synchronization, bandwidth, latency, safety and security requirements


WHO YOU ARE

  • Academic degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in embedded systems for automotive with focus in bus systems such as CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet, Flexray
  • Good programming skills in C, C++ and Python
  • Knowledge in architecture and modelling tools such as PreeVision, Cameo, SystemDesk
  • Expert Knowledge in Vector Tools such as CANoe and CANape
  • Knowledge of functional safety according to ISO 26262 and security according to ISO 21434 is a plus
  • Analytical and hands-on mindset, structured way of work and eagerness to be a team player in a diverse environment
  • Driving license required
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a plus
