Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a
Senior Systems Engineer for Eurofighter Mission Support System (d/f/m)
In Platform Operational Support, we develop IT-based Mission Support Systems for all flying platforms in our portfolio, such as Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone, Tornado and FCAS.
To strengthen the development team for the Eurofighter Mission Support System we are looking for a Systems Engineer. For the development of this modern IT system developed with agile methods, you will be in direct contact with pilots of the German Air Force.
You, as part of a self-orgaized, international and multifunctional team, with software developers, testers as well as operational consultants, will further develop the system, taking into account current trends in military aviation.

This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Modeling of system designs in an agile approach for functional areas of the system

Further development of functions such as route calculation, POIs, Graphical Information System, database, IT security, taking into account higher-level architectural goals and optimization in the case of necessary trade-offs

Creation of software requirements and close coordination with the software developers, during their development, implementation and verification

Creation of automated system and software tests

Participation in and preparation of meetings with customer representatives as well as internal stakeholders

Supporting the further development of the agile way of working as a team task
Desired skills and qualifications
-
Completed degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Several years experience in IT systems design and requirements management involving other disciplines such as software engineering

Interest in the processes involved in the planning and execution of military air operations

Ability to think creatively in a problem-solving manner

Experience in agile development projects utilizing Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban will be a plus

Understanding of tools for project control (Jira, Confluence), requirements management (IBM DOORS, Jama) and version control (Git) will be a plus
