Your Tasks

• Ensure product development (formula, packaging, scale-up, FTO) is complete and on time. Including that raw materials / packaging materials and finished products comply with safety, QM and BDF requirements and parameters. Support PackDev and Production in case of quality issues. Initiate early mandatory projects to ensure compliance of Derma Face HP products. Represent R&D at project and core team meetings.

• Initiate the creation of new innovative application/packaging concepts. Integrate category sustainability objectives into Derma Face HP product pipelines.

• Ensure mid-term pipeline for Derma Face HP categories through development of innovative product prototypes. Ensure sufficient support / portfolio funding to meet identified Derma Face HP opportunities / key initiatives and to create new ones. Support X-Category ingredient galenics and development, new technologies and lead lab Anti-Pigment actives.

• Foster strong cross-functional collaboration, e.g.  CCS, analytics, QM, development labs, marketing suppliers, institutes.

• Ensure smooth collaboration with the regional Derma R&D hubs in the US and Shanghai, fostering open and transparent discussion/exchange.

• Represent Beiersdorf’s Derma interests in national and international associations and federations (e.g. EADV, IKW/DGK/ Colipa//StiWa expert advisory board) and at Derma KOL meetings, scientific symposia and launch press conferences.

• Guiding, motivating and developing of subordinate personnel. [pharmacy interns, apprentices and technicians]. Support and supervision of bachelor/ master theses.

• Literature and patent research, patent protection of inventions

Your Profile

• Degree in pharmacy, (pharmaceutical) chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical engineering, biotechnology, food technology or similar qualification

• Work experience in cosmetic product formulation

• Extensive chemical knowledge

• Experience working in Core Teams

• In-depth knowledge of raw materials and semi-solid technologies e.g. emulsions

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability and interest in multidisciplinary work

• Motivated, team player, independent, structured, flexible, creative

• Very good knowledge of English

• Passion for product development

• Strong interest in new ways of working, AI

• Good knowledge of MS Office and internal software e.g. OPCenter, Teamcenter
